- Crownhill Fort
Plymouth’s Best Kept Secret – Most people hardly notice Crownhill Fort as they go past, it is so well hidden from the outside world, and that was exactly the intention when it was built in the 1860s. With massive earth ramparts, hidden gun emplacements and tunnels, it was built to protect Plymouth and is now in the care of the Landmark Trust. Displays, live gun firing some weekends. 01752 793754

- Yelverton Golf Club
A delightful moorland course, designed by Herbert Fowler, who used the old mine working as natural hazards to challenge golfers of all standards. It has outstanding views across Dartmoor and over Cornwall and is a very natural course, with Dartmoor ponies and cattle sharing the fairways.
- Sparkwell Golf Club
This golf course is known in the area, for its great yearly condition and its tough and demanding test. The golf course is home to many trees much older than the house itself which makes it very demanding to golfers of every level. The course length is 2886 yards Par 68 SSS 68.
