Bennetts Court Cottages is a small family run complex of five self catering holiday cottages converted from stone and cob built barns set in eleven acres. It is located in an elevated position at the end of a private tree lined drive on the edge of Whitstone Village close to the Cornwall and Devon border, with extensive views over rolling countryside to Widemouth Bay beyond.

The Complex offers:

This attached stone/slate built former barn has been converted into an attractive single storey ‘easy access’ one double bedroom cottage. It fronts a private paved patio leading to communal gardens and grounds with views over open countryside to the coast at Widemouth Bay.

The accommodation includes a vaulted living room with kitchen area. An inner hall provides access to a double bedroom and shower room.

This attached stone built former mill has been converted into an attractive single story ‘easy access’ two bedroomed cottage. It occupies a secluded position approached over a private south facing patio with lawned garden and woodland beyond.

The accommodation includes a large vaulted, open plan living space with kitchen/dining area and sitting area with wood burning stove. An inner hall provides access to a double bedroom, twin bedroom and bathroom.

Bluebell cottage is a spacious two storey end of terraced stone/cob built cottage being one of three similar cottages converted from an 18th century former granary.

The three bedroom accommodation is arranged to provide a large living room/kitchen on the first floor overlooking the communal playground with views over undulating countryside to the coast at Widemouth Bay beyond.

The accommodation comprises a ground floor entrance hall, a large double bedroom, small twin bedroom and bathroom. On the first floor a large open plan living room /kitchen and double bedroom.

Primrose cottage is a spacious two storey mid terraced stone/cob built cottage, being one of three similar cottages converted from an18th century former granary.

The three bedroomed accommodation is arranged to provide a large living room/kitchen on the first floor over looking the communal playground with views over undulating countryside to the coast at Widemouth Bay beyond.

Foxglove cottage is a spacious two storey end terraced stone/cob built cottage, being one of three similar cottages converted from an18th century former granary.

The three bedroom accommodation is arranged to provide a large living room/kitchen on the first floor over looking the communal playground with views over undulating countryside to the coast at Widemouth Bay beyond.

The accommodation comprises a ground floor entrance hall, a large twin bedroom, a small twin bedroom, bathroom and cloakroom. On the first floor a large open plan living room/kitchen and double bedroom.

Bennetts Court cottages offer a range of facilities more commonly associated with larger complexes thereby providing a greater degree of exclusivity.

The heated outdoor swimming is available from late May to September. It is fully enclosed with a high latched self closing entrance gate to prevent unauthorised access by young children. The pool is approximately 5m by 10 meters with a safe depth of between 0.8meters and 1.15 meters. We try to maintain a pool temperature of 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit although this can fluctuate according to prevailing weather conditions.

The complex comprises approximately eleven acres incorporating communal gardens, a small playground (with swings and a climbing frame) and an open field ideally suited for playing football rounders cricket or walking the dog.

From the top of the complex a footpath provides access to Whitstone village and the local shop (approximately 15mins walk) which stocks a good range of groceries including some local produce as well as newspapers off license sales etc.

A small range of redundant stone barns have been adapted for a variety of uses including:

• A rabbit barn with large outside run
• A barn with table tennis table (bats and balls provided)
• A play barn incorporating a selection of toys and games including train tracks, farmyard animals, cricket bats, football and rugby balls.
• A stone barn with BBQs
• Undercover storage is usually available for guests bikes, top boxes etc.

Guests are welcome to visit the rabbits and alpacas. There is a large open-sided barn that provides a further undercover play area and is a suitable base for picnics with extensive views over adjoining countryside to the coast beyond (enjoy the beautiful sunsets over Widemouth Bay).

There is a communal laundry room with coin operated washing and drying machines (powder provided). It also houses a large selection of tourist information covering much of Cornwall and a selection of board games and books.

Baby sitting service is available subject to prior arrangement.
