For nearly forty years Oakdown holiday caravan park in Devon has been carefully fashioned by the Franks Family, from the open Devonshire meadowland to its current multi award winning standard. No straight lines here, just gentle curves, spacious groves, seclusion, privacy and peace and quiet.

Oakdown is Sidmouth and East Devon's only AA 5 Pennant Park and is delighted to announce that it has just received AA SOUTH WEST REGIONAL CAMPSITE OF THE YEAR AWARD FOR 2011.

Your Holiday at Oakdown Touring Park starts with a warm welcome from the friendly resident wardens, whose total aim is to help you enjoy your stay and ensure that your holiday runs smoothly. Great care is taken in allocating pitches to satisfy all needs but please remember to book early if you have any particular requirements.

We welcome guests with Touring Caravans, Motor Caravans, Tenting, Tents, Trailer Tents and folding campers who have a choice of either a non-serviced pitch, serviced pitch, or a super-serviced pitch. R/V's and American style motor home are welcome on limited pitches.

Pitches Landscaped into groves with thousands! of trees and shrubs, Oakdowns pitches are level, closely mown, very generous in size with parking by your unit. All have electric hook-ups and three 'Groves' have self contained 'super pitches', each serviced with water, electric hook-up and drainage.

16 Modern Rose Award super luxury, double glazed, fully centrally heated Holiday Caravans on Cherry, Hazel or Oak Grove. The central heating and double glazing is of household quality. For everyone's safety and ease of use our Holiday Caravans are all electric and luxuriously fitted to a very high standard.

The spacious kitchens have microwave, fridge and freezer, full electric cooker, vacuum cleaner and is fitted for up to 4/6 people. Heated shower rooms also have a hand basin and toilet. Each Holiday Caravan has two centrally heated bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other has two singles - all with co-ordinating duvets and linen INCLUDED in the tariff.The beautiful lounge has sprung seating, remote controlled colour TV, DVD player and electric fire.

Eleven Holiday Caravans are kept "Pet and smoke Free" ALL Holiday Caravans and the Cottage are “Smoke Free”.

The 17th century thatched cottage is situated in the hamlet of Weston and is fitted to a luxurious standard throughout and sleeps four people. The cottage is all electric, heating is by storage heaters, all electricity is included in the rental.

The spacious lounge with its exposed beamed ceiling and inghlenook fireplace with bread oven, has remote controlled colour TV with Video and is very attractively furnished. There is a doorway leading onto a sheltered sun patio.

The well equipped fitted kitchen/diner also has a microwave, fridge, freezer and an automatic washing machine/drier. Leading from which is the fully tiled bathroom/WC/shower and two bedrooms. One with double bed and the other two singles, all with linen and duvets co-ordinating with the décor.

Coffee Lodge - offers a warm welcome and somewhere to relax with a range of coffees, teas and cold drinks together with a tempting selection of cakes, pasties, quality sandwiches, and our guests favorite the Devonshire cream teas (in the summer season). Open daily from 10am during busy periods.

Internet Kiosk - In addition to two standard Interlock Terminals we have also installed two integrated laptop docking stations. This allows users to simply plug the cable into their laptop and insert a coin; this gives them a pre defined time with Internet access.

Oak Lodge Shop - serving essentials such as Bread, Milk, Eggs, Bacon, Newspapers and all sorts of caravan and camping equipment and much more, save yourself a journey! open in the mornings and afternoons (openning days may vary at different times through the year).

Additional Facilities - Laundry, Games Room, Play Area and Pitch and Putt.

Oakdown has long been known as a retreat for discerning country lovers. Set amidst the spectacular coast and countryside of the East Devon Heritage Coast and within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the beautiful Weston Valley and much of the coastal path are National Trust property. The area abounds with a wealth of wildlife, quiet beaches, history and geology which the discriminating visitor can explore from this ideal holiday base. Unspoilt ancient villages like Otterton and Sidbury nestle in secluded valleys, where olde worlde pubs serve mouthwatering meals and cosy thatched tea rooms will delight you with delicious cream teas.
