Set in its own private orchard and hidden from the main house and from public view, The Cabin occupies one of the most spectacular positions in the West Country. From the balcony there is no sign of human habitation and the visitor is aware only of the sound of the river far below and the occasional mewing of the buzzards. The surrounding hills and ancient woods contain a wealth of wildlife and at night owls, foxes and badgers are active below the Cabin, while herons and wild duck are occasional passers-by. Visitors have direct access to the river and open moorland.

This is an immensely peaceful place yet it is within five minutes’ drive of Poundsgate with a good local pub and within 15 minutes of a market town and the A38. Exeter, Plymouth and the coast are all about 45 minutes by car. All the usual country activities are available locally (guided walks, riding for all abilities, fly-fishing etc.) and the whole expanse of the wild and rugged moors is waiting to be explored.

The Cabin consists of one large room (18’ x 9’9’’), divided into kitchen/dining and living/sleeping areas, with shower and chemical wc off the main room. The double bed folds away into the wall. There is a woodburner and comfortable seating. Please bring your own bed linen/sleeping bags. Air beds can be supplied when singles are required. Outside there is a large balcony with seating and barbecue.
