Barritshayes, nestling in the heart of the stunning Coly Valley, East Devon. Our beautifully appointed self-catering holiday cottages, 'The Dairy' and 'The Granary' and our brand new cabin 'Swallows' are equipped to a very high standard in a quiet, rural location with swimming pool and tennis court. Beaches and local attractions are within a short drive and the 'Eden Project' is a day trip away.

The cottages

Our 4* rated cottages, The Dairy and The Granary are superbly equipped. Facilities including washer/dryer, microwave, TV/dvd, hi-fi. Each has a private garden with furniture and BBQ and views over the lawns and tennis court to the hills beyond. Each has two bedrooms (sleeping 4) and a sofa bed in the living room.

Swallows is our cabin located in a superb elevated spot with fabulous views and is an ideal retreat for couples. It is equipped to a very high standard and has a bedroom, en suite shower room, living/kitchen/dining room as well as sunny patio with outdoor furniture and barbeque. It is carpeted throughout and is a very warm and cosy place for out of season breaks with electric log burner, double glazing and very good insulation.

Bed linen, house towels, electricity and heating are included.

Pool & facilities

Guests are welcome to use our outdoor heated swimming pool which is open from May to October. There is an all year round hard tennis court and games room with table tennis, board games etc. as well as croquet in the garden and other games for children and adults.

Cycle hire and horse riding can be arranged to explore the beautiful countryside all around or perhaps you’d just prefer to relax and soak up the vistas which surround the farm.

Attractions

Barritshayes is only a short drive from Lyme Regis, Seaton, Beer and Branscombe where sailing, boating, fishing trips and other seaside activities can be enjoyed. The Coly Valley is renowned for its wildlife - kingfishers and otters can be seen along the river bank. A network of footpaths and bridleways allow you to enjoy the magnificent scenery.

We are situated between Colyton and the pretty village of Northleigh with its 13th century church. The historic town of Colyton is 1.5 miles away with picturesque narrow streets and town square with a range of local shops. The ancient market town of Honiton is 4 miles away with a wide selection of shops, railway station and fast road access via the A30 and M5.

Location

From Honiton turn south into New Street (signposted to the station). Continue under the railway bridge and up to a mini roundabout. Turn left and then immediately right to Farway and Northleigh. Pass the Golf Club on your right and continue for about 4 miles to Farwood Cross. Turn left to 'Colyton 3 miles'. Stay on this road and we are on the left after about 0.8 mile. From Colyton take the Chantry Bridge and follow the Northleigh Road. We are on the right after about 1.5 miles.
