Magnificent 500 year old Grade 11* thatched Devon former Hall House Sleeps: 8 + COT
Farmhouse in Centre of picture ( Byre cottage to left) Clematis on farmhouse Dating from the early 16th century, the farmhouse is architecturally important being listed grade 11*. Within the farmhouse there are some superb features including original chamfered beams and crucks, an oak framed plank and muntin screen in the hall and very large Beerstone ashlar fireplaces in the drawing room and kitchen. Accommodation: The property sleeps 8 + cot in 2 double & 2 twin bedrooms. The main bedroom has an en-suite shower room ( with power shower and toilet/wash hand basin) and there is also another bathroom. Three of the bedrooms have magnificent uninterrupted views of the garden & Dumpdon Hill. In the large beamed drawing room the wood burner warms up the cold winter evenings while the 4 oven AGA in the kitchen ensures that the house is cosy all day long. Being thatched the house remains a similar temperature all year round. In the summer the thatch keeps the house cool from the summer heat and in the winter ensures that the house remains warm. The 2 feet thick walls ( the house is a typical example of a stone and cob construction) ensure that the house remains peaceful for those lazy afternoons reading the paper or that book that one never gets around to at home! The farmhouse has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and includes bespoke wooden kitchen with AGA, new carpets, curtains and soft furnishings. PRICE FOR 2002 Unlike many cottages for rent all our cottages are fully inclusive of all bills. The following introductory prices for 2002 include all heat, power, logs for the log burner & linen and towels.
