Quietly tucked in the picture-postcard Inner Hope square with its thatched and cob cottages, Pigeon Post could hardly be better positioned for a stay in this idyllic part of South Devon. Once a sleepy fishing village, Hope Cove is now a deservedly popular destination for the discerning holidaymaker. The superb sandy beaches are a very few minutes' walk from the house the closest being just a minute's walk away and there is also immediate access along a footpath to the National Trust headland of Bolt Tail, part of the South West Coast Path. Hope Cove offers a whole range of activities for the visitor; as well as its sheltered sandy beaches it's also good for diving, surfing and canoeing and you can launch a boat from the slipway in the harbour. |

Salcombe, famous for its sailing, and the busy market town of Kingsbridge are both around 20 minutes by car: and the whole area of the South Hams is filled to overflowing with fine beaches, walks and places of interest - including many fascinating castles such as the (reputedly!) much-haunted Berry Pomeroy near Totnes. Further afield, Exeter, Plymouth, Torbay and the Moors are all easily reached for a day's outing. Built in 1904, Pigeon Post stands proudly beside a Methodist chapel, under the lee of the hills. The three-storey building has been recently renovated throughout to a very high standard and has an attractive private garden and patio at the rear. |
