The Staddle Stones is part of the substantial barns built by the Duke of Bedford in the 1800's lts name derives from the dressed granite stones which, in conjunction with specially hewn slate tops, were used as the base for the corn and hay ricks of the time. These stones border the access treelined driveway and level parking area where once corn ricks stood.

It has become a really lovely home, all on the level with wide doors of ancient design. It is furnished for comfort with a style to match its ancient timbers and nooks and crannies, as well as for ease of movement. There is a walled patio type garden (approximately 15' x 24') with raised flowerbeds, shrubs, climbing plants and small rockery, bird bath, picnic table and flower tubs. This catches the sun and at the side has extensive views of our lovely valley and the moors.

It is suitable for honeymooners, a small family and also the attended wheelchair bound.

Staddle Stones has the following accommodation:

Kitchen - 7'6 x 10'- Modern with fridge, cooker (ceramic topped double oven and rotisserie) and automatic washing machine and microwave. The units have been carpentered from our own beech. Breakfastbar, stools and chairs.
Sitting room - l3' 6 x 8'- Carpeted and has two armchairs, a very comfortible bed settee (4ft) and colour television This can be curtained off for extra privacy.
Bedroom - 9' 6" x l2' 6" -Twin beds, wardrobe, dressing table etc.
The view from the bedroom window is of the treelined drive, staddle stones and garden.
Hall - for coats and boots.

Bathroom - Is amply Spaced with a fully tiled, non-slip floor with adjustable shower seat and handralls, toilet, wash-basin and airing cupboard. Heated towel rail, extractor fan and heater.
Heating is by electricity with night storage heaters (included in cost) and additional free-standing heaters (not included) Electricity by £1 coin meter.
