The Staddle Stones is part of the substantial barns built by the Duke of Bedford in the 1800's lts name derives from the dressed granite stones which, in conjunction with specially hewn slate tops, were used as the base for the corn and hay ricks of the time. These stones border the access treelined driveway and level parking area where once corn ricks stood. |

It
has become a really lovely home, all on the level with wide doors of ancient
design. It is furnished for comfort with a style to match its ancient
timbers and nooks and crannies, as well as for ease of movement. There
is a walled patio type garden (approximately 15' x 24') with raised flowerbeds,
shrubs, climbing plants and small rockery, bird bath, picnic table and
flower tubs. This catches the sun and at the side has extensive views
of our lovely valley and the moors. |
