![]() Relax in the beamed sitting room ![]() This pretty bedroom overlooks the orchard where you can watch the antics of our ducks. | Hele Barton is a real working family run farm of 273 acres, mainly beef and sheep, and growing cereals to be self-sufficient in animal feed. Also wheat is grown for thatching. Brian and Gillian are helped by their son Paul. The farm has been home for Brian's 84yr old father for 70 years and is on hand to chat. Daughter Claire, at present in Australia is a nurse and completes our family. Meet our working sheepdog Sam who loves playing frisbies and Holly the "Black Dog" who just rolls over for a tickle. There are also the pet rabbits, chickens, geese, and ducks and the 300 + sheep, some race horses to name just a few of the animals to see. A game farmer uses some of our land to rear pheasants on in spring and early summer. So depending on when you visit us there will be different things to see happening. This is an ideal base for touring or just relaxing. Devon has so much to offer, coast or moor, all with breath taking scenery. |
