Standing in the attractive grounds of the owner's house, The Chalet occupies its own private area and is accessed by a steep lane up the hill from the village. It is in a superbly elevated position and from the garden there are views of the bay and - on a fine day - of Lundy Island. Croyde's wide sandy bay (10 minutes on foot) is famous for its surfing and is patrolled by lifeguards between May and September. The village has a post office and shop, and highly regarded pubs and restaurants. The Southwest coast path stretches in both directions and Barnstaple, Clovelly (stepped village), Saunton (excellent 18 hole golf course) and of course The Exmoor National park - are all within easy reach by car.

The Chalet was fully refurbished five years ago and is bright and cheerful, with lots of wood and comfortable furnishings - a fine base for a seaside and country holiday.
