| Karrageen Caravan and Camping Park |
|
Karrageen is a small, friendly, family run site and one of
the closest sites to a sandy beach in the South Hams. The park
is situated in Bolberry, a pretty hamlet, one mile from Hope Cove.
The Park overlooks a valley populated with pheasants, rabbits,
foxes, badgers and patrolled by a pair of breeding buzzards. To
the west, we have sea views over Bigbury Bay to Plymouth Sound
and beyond to the start of the Cornish coastline. The sunsets
over the bay and headland can be very spectacular.

| Facilities | |
| We offer
a total of 70 pitches, including 20 designated for touring caravans, on two adjacent
fields. The 2.5 acre caravan field is gently sloping and has 5 pitches for touring
caravans all with electrical hook-ups and sharing three water points and 6 beautifully
apportioned static caravans for hire. The adjacent five acre field has been terraced
and offers 65 pitches, 15 of which are for touring caravans and the remaining
50 are for tents and motor caravans. Most pitches are level and have wonderful
views, either across the valley or out to sea - many with both. In this field
there are 42 hook-ups, 18 water points and 2 large open areas, kept free of camping
for children to play safely. | |

| The toilet block
is situated in the caravan field and consists of : |  | Mens:
4 showers, 6 wash basins, 2 shaver points and 1 hairdryer. | | Ladies
: 4 showers, 6 wash basins, 2 strip wash cubicles and 2 hairdryers. |

The utility room provides 2 sinks for dish washing and two
chest freezers (free) for ice packs. There is a new extension which provides a
separate laundry room with 2 sinks, 3 washing machines and a tumble dryer. There
is also a pay-phone booth and a disabled / family shower room. At reception, we
have a well stocked, licensed shop selling milk and a full range of dairy produce,
bacon, frozen meats and burgers, a large range of grocery provisions, a good selection
of chilled lagers, beers, ciders and wine, fresh bread and some basic camping
equipment including Calor gas and camping Gaz. We also provide a hot takeaway
food service with a nicely varied menu. |

| Beaches | |
| The nearest beach is a genuine mile
down the lane at Inner Hope Cove - part of the old fishing village of Hope Cove.
Here you can enjoy the sandy beach, which is well known for its safe bathing or
take advantage of the fishing and boating facilities available. It is also a favoured
haunt for diving enthusiasts. In Hope Cove, there is one
public house which provide hot meals, a Post office and a small restaurant. Above
us, just under a mile away, is Bolberry Down, a National Trust Preservation Area
renowned for its cliff top walks and spectacular coastal views. The walk from
Bolberry Down to Bolt Tail and down to Inner Hope is a must with its views over
Bigbury Bay. | |

| Holiday Caravans for Hire |
We have a small fleet of
6 new Willerby and Atlas static caravans for hire weekly on either a Friday or
Saturday changeover. 30'x 10' in size with two bedrooms,
our caravans are equipped to the highest possible specifications. Maximum
occupancy - 4 persons (including infants). | |
