The
Grange Restaurant and Tea Rooms The
Benedictine monks of Buckfast welcome visitors to their famous Abbey,
set in the beautiful valley of the River Dart on the edge of Dartmoor.
Founded in Saxon times, the Abbey grew in size and influence during the Middle Ages until the Dissolution in 1539, when the monastery was closed and fell into ruin. Benedictine monks have always made visitors welcome, and recent developments at Buckfast have improved the facilities for the many thousands of people who came to the Abbey each year. |
